LogicalSolutions.net operates one of the most successful data centers in upstate New York. We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to be part of our growing team. Our data center hosts over 12,000 unique web sites, internet applications, and two fast growing cloud platforms. We provide support for many technologies including Microsoft Windows/SQL/IIS/Exchange, Unix/Linux, Cold Fusion, PHP/MySQL, VMWare, and others as required by our client base. We are currently in the middle of a large growth phase and are looking to hire a Manager for our Traditional Hosting Operations. This role will oversee a group of Systems Admins and Technical Support Reps responsible for the ongoing management of our traditional hosting products, shared hosting, email hosting, and dedicated servers. A large part of the responsibility will be the ongoing automation of all systems to lead us into a completely self service model of hosting operations. Knowledge and experience of implementing automation and self service control panels is vital.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Responsible for a staff of 3-5 admins and technical reps doing the day to day support of our traditional hosting operations.
- Direct management responsibility for staff including setting goals, reviewing performance, and technical mentoring.
- Ensure ongoing operation of all existing services while continuing the build out of self service tools.
- Responsible for all phone and ticket queues and ensuring staff is answering tickets in a timely fashion. Including answering a reasonable volume of your own tickets.
- Verifying all new customers orders and ensuring timely setup of services.
- Helping to set and track key metrics for customer support operations.
- Research, evaluate, recommend, and implement tools, and solutions that help to improve the efficiency and reliability of our operations.
- Will report to the Director of Data Center Services Operations and assist in defining objectives for group.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience in a technical management role.
- Minimum 10 years experience in Windows and/or Linux server administration.
- Experience implementing control panel tools in Windows and/or Linux environments (ie. WebsitePanel, cPanel)
- Must have exceptional communication skills and experience in a customer service environment dealing with end users both technical and non-technical.
- Minimum Bachelors degree or similar in computer science or technology field.
- A strong belief in customer service and a “Do whatever it takes” positive attitude!
Additional experience that would be helpful, though not required:
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V, Xen)
- Experience in a fast paced customer service/support environment with a hosting company or similar busines.
- Systems automation through scripting/programming Windows and/or Linux.
